Established in 1952 as part of the IRI-Italstat group, Bonifica Ingegneria brings more than 70 years of expertise to the engineering and infrastructure sector. From its earliest days, the company established itself as a cornerstone of Italian engineering, nurturing talent and driving professional development through continuous investment in research, cutting-edge methodologies, and specialized training programs.

Following privatization in 2002, Bonifica Ingegneria strengthened its position by welcoming new strategic partners: the Italian investment firm Istitut Fina.SpA and the renowned American engineering corporation Parsons Transportation Group Inc. This evolution enhanced the company's organizational structure, creating a powerful synergy between seasoned experts—many of whom carried forward the legacy of the public sector era—and a new generation of dynamic, forward-thinking professionals. Being part of a major state-owned group in its formative years gave Bonifica Ingegneria the opportunity to shape Italy's modern infrastructure landscape. Today, the company continues to expand its horizons, delivering complex projects across transportation, water management, environmental protection, and urban development. Among its landmark achievements are the engineering design of the Autostrada A1, the country's first High-Speed Rail line connecting Rome and Naples, the expansion of Rome's Fiumicino Airport, and the preliminary design and environmental impact assessment for the iconic Messina Strait Bridge. Bonifica Ingegneria has also played a vital role in preserving cultural heritage, undertaking major restoration and archaeological projects at UNESCO sites such as Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Ostia Antica, as well as the Grandi Uffici complex, the Taranto Archaeological Museum, the Grande Brera in Milan, the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, the historic city of Sana'a in Yemen, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
